Focused arrival windows
Useful updates and clear arrival timing.
New fridge delivered, or moving one to a new home? A refrigerator that is not level, has no air space, sits on a kinked water line or is plugged into the wrong outlet can run badly from day one. We check the space, set it level, connect the power and water, test it and show you what to do in the first 24 hours. You get the price before any work begins.

Equipped vehicles and respectful cleanup.
Neighbors serving neighbors with follow-through.
The delivery crew drops the fridge in the kitchen. We make sure it is set up so it works well and lasts.
We unpack the fridge and check it for damage from delivery before we connect anything, so a problem is found before the warranty clock matters.
We check the outlet and plug in the fridge, and connect the water line for the ice maker and dispenser, with a shut-off valve you can reach.
We level the fridge, tilt it slightly back so the doors close themselves, and set the air space around it.
We test the cooling, the ice and water lines for leaks, and the door seals, and explain how long to wait before loading food.

A refrigerator is mostly plug-and-play, but a few details decide how well it runs. Manufacturer instructions, such as GE’s, call for a level, firm floor, a properly grounded outlet with no extension cord, room at the sides, top and back for air, and for models with a water line, 1/4 inch tubing and an easy-to-reach shut-off valve. Skipping them causes the faults we are called to fix later.
Most installation problems are small and avoidable: a fridge out of level whose door swings open, a water line pinched behind it, no air space so the coils overheat, or a filter that was never flushed. Finding them on day one is far cheaper than finding them after a leak or a spoiled shelf of food.
Not sure your space is ready? Our temperature guide covers the settings to use on day one.

These are the setup mistakes we see, what they cause, how to check for them and the fix.
| Setup issue | What it causes | How to check | Fix at installation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fridge not level | Doors swing open, noise, uneven ice-maker fill | Bubble level on top; door closes by itself | Adjust the feet; tilt slightly back |
| No air space around it | Coils overheat; compressor runs hot and long | Gaps at the sides, top and back | Set the clearances in the manual |
| Extension cord or ungrounded outlet | Power faults and unsafe wiring | Look at the plug and the outlet | Use a grounded outlet; no extension cord |
| Kinked or thin plastic water line | Slow or no water; hidden leaks | Look behind the fridge; follow the line | Fit a braided or PEX line |
| No accessible shut-off valve | Slow response to a leak | Find the valve on the wall or under the sink | Fit a quarter-turn shut-off valve |
| Filter not flushed | Air in the line; slow or sputtering water | Run the dispenser for several gallons | Flush as the manual says |
| Doorway or cabinet fit | Doors that cannot open, or a fridge that will not fit | Measure before delivery | Remove doors or adjust the space |
| Next to the oven or in direct sun | The fridge works harder and uses more energy | Check the position | Move it or add a gap |
On the call we ask the make and model, whether it has water and ice, and what the space is like. A photo of the water valve and the space helps.
We unbox the fridge, check it for damage, and check the outlet, the space and the water supply.
We connect the power and the water line, flush the filter where there is one, then level the fridge and set the air space.
We check the doors and the seals, look for leaks at every connection, and confirm the fridge is starting to cool.
We explain how long to wait before loading food, when the ice maker will start, and which settings to use first.

Check the fridge is level and the space is the right size for the doors and the air gap.
Confirm the outlet is grounded and supplying power before the fridge is plugged in.
Show the real temperatures as the fridge cools, so you know when it is safe to load food.
Braided or PEX lines, quarter-turn valves and fittings, so the water connection is done properly.
We adhere to these guidelines to ensure environmentally safe refrigerant handling and installation.
Our technicians follow these standards to guarantee high-quality installation and service.

Delivery crews often leave the fridge in the room. We set it up properly, so the first day is not spent finding a leak or a door that will not close.
A fridge that has been moved needs levelling, a fresh water connection and a check. A moved fridge with a kinked line is a common cause of leaks.
The water line is the part most often done badly. A proper line and valve saves you from a slow dispenser or a hidden leak.
Floors, power and the climate shape a good installation here. These are the local things we plan for.
Most Fort Myers kitchens sit on a slab with tile or plank flooring. A water leak behind the fridge can seep under the flooring unseen, so the water line has to be right from day one.
Homes on private wells, common in Lehigh Acres, Buckingham and Alva, can send sand or minerals into the line. A filter near the fridge helps, and manuals often recommend one for sandy water.
Many buildings have elevator and delivery rules. Tell us the building and unit so we plan the visit around access.
A fridge in a hot spot runs longer. Give it air space, keep it out of direct sun and use a garage-rated model if it will stand in a garage.
A surge protector made for large appliances, or whole-home protection from an electrician, protects a new fridge. Avoid a basic power strip.
Before our installation, the refrigerator struggled to maintain a consistent temperature, causing food spoilage.
After installation, the refrigerator maintained an optimal temperature of 37°F, ensuring food safety.
Maintenance: Regularly check the temperature settings and clean the coils every six months.
The old refrigerator leaked water, causing damage to the kitchen floor and cabinets.
Post-installation, there were no leaks, and the kitchen remained dry and safe.
Maintenance: Inspect water lines periodically for signs of wear or damage.
Customers reported frost buildup that blocked airflow and affected cooling efficiency.
After our expert installation, the fridge operated without frost buildup, improving airflow.
Maintenance: Keep the door seals clean and check for any gaps that may let warm air in.
These are the faults a good installation prevents.
A fridge needs time, space and a good outlet. We check all three, and tell you if the fridge itself is faulty.
A kinked or loose line, or a poor fitting. We use proper lines and fittings and test every connection.
The fridge is out of level. We level it and tilt it slightly back so the doors close themselves.
A fridge that is rocking, touching a wall or running hot for lack of air. We set the position and the air space.
A pinched line, an unflushed filter or low pressure. We flush and check the supply.
No air space or a hot location. We set the clearances and advise on position.
Quoted by the job, after a call
An installation is quoted by the job, before any work begins. A simple plug-in install costs less than one that needs a new water line, a shut-off valve or a door removed to fit. If we find a fault in the new fridge or in the water supply, we tell you and quote any repair separately, and most repairs fall within $100 to $450.
A fridge with an ice maker and dispenser needs a water line, a valve and a filter flush, which adds time.
If a good line and valve are already there, the job is simpler. A new line and valve add to it.
Tight doorways, stairs, condo rules or a fridge that needs a door removed to fit affect the time.
French door, side-by-side and built-in models differ, and a built-in or panel-ready fridge takes much longer.
A fridge being moved needs a fresh connection and a check for damage in transit.
When comparing companies, ask whether the water line, valve, filter flush and a leak test are part of the quote.
| Job | Typical range | What it depends on |
|---|---|---|
| Plug-in installation | Quoted by the job | Access, level and outlet check |
| Water line and shut-off valve | Quoted by the job | Line material, valve and access |
| Water inlet valve (if faulty) | $105 to $205 | Valve type and access |
The inlet valve figure is a general US market estimate (EasyBear), not a Fridge Masters quote. Installation is quoted by the job after we know the fridge and the space.

The refrigerator installation service was fantastic! The team was professional, efficient, and made sure everything was working perfectly before leaving. Highly recommend!
I had a new commercial fridge installed, and the process was smooth. They arrived on time and took care of everything. I couldn't be happier with the service!
I was impressed with the attention to detail during my fridge installation. The technicians were knowledgeable and ensured my new unit was set up correctly. Great service!
It depends on the model, so check your manual. Many manufacturers, such as GE, call for a small gap at each side, about an inch at the top and about an inch at the back for air. Too little space makes the coils overheat and the fridge run longer.
Many manufacturers say a few hours to get cold, and up to about 24 hours to stabilize. Check with a thermometer, and load food gradually once the fridge is at 40°F or below. Ice from a new ice maker can take up to a day after that.
If it was tipped or laid on its side during transport, follow your manual before plugging it in. Many suggest letting it stand upright for some hours, because the oil in the compressor needs to settle. If it stayed upright, it can usually be plugged in once it is in place.
Many manuals recommend a properly grounded, individual branch circuit, with the receptacle placed so the plug is not crushed. Do not use an extension cord. If you are not sure, an electrician can check the circuit.
Many manuals call for 1/4 inch copper or similar tubing with an easily reached shut-off valve. Braided stainless or PEX lines are more durable than thin plastic. If your water has sand or particles, a filter near the fridge is often recommended.
A new ice maker can take up to 24 hours to start. Check it is switched on, the water line is open and the freezer is near 0°F. The first batches of ice are usually discarded. If it still makes nothing after a day, call us.
Use a bubble level on top, and adjust the front feet or rollers until it is level side to side. Then tilt it slightly back so the doors close by themselves. An out-of-level fridge can leave doors open, make noise or fill the ice mold unevenly.
Yes. If the store delivers the fridge, we can connect it, level it and test it. Tell us the make and model, and whether the fridge has water and ice, so we can plan the visit and bring the right parts.
It is strongly recommended. A quarter-turn valve lets you stop a leak quickly and lets us swap a line or valve without turning off the whole house. Piercing saddle valves are prone to clogging and leaking, so we replace them where we find them.
Only if it is designed for it. Some standard manuals limit the room to roughly 55°F to 110°F, so a hot garage can keep a fridge running non-stop. Garage-rated models are designed for about 38°F to 110°F. Check the manual before you install one there.
A protector made for large appliances can help, and an electrician can fit whole-home protection. Avoid a basic power strip for a fridge. Check your manual, because some makers advise against certain protectors.
We can disconnect, check and reinstall a fridge that has been moved, including a new water connection. Moving is usually done by a mover, and the fridge needs to stand upright and settle before it is plugged in. Tell us the make and model.
